Do you enjoy cooking with your kids? This savory French toast is a great recipe to try for kids who are learning to cook. My 7 and 3-year-old kiddos could handle most of the steps with some guidance. Another great thing is that my kids could customize the toppings to their preferences. Everyone was happy in the end!

Savory French Toasts
This oven-baked savory French toast is a great recipe to try for kids who are learning to cook.
- 3 large Nellie’s Free Range Eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp Nellie’s Free Range Unsalted Butter melted
- 1 cup milk
- 8 slices sandwich bread
- 2 cups of your favorite shredded cheese
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
- cooking oil spray
- More topping ideas: avocado freshly grated black pepper, basil
Position rack in the upper third of an oven and preheat to 375 F.
Generously spray the bottom and sides of a nonstick baking sheet (18” X 13”) with cooking oil spray. Set aside.
In a bowl, beat eggs. Mix in salt, butter, and milk.
Pour the mixture into the sheet pan. Place the bread slices to soak up the liquid and then flip in the order of how you placed the bread.
Bake for 12 minutes. Take out the French toasts and set the oven temperature to 450 F.
Flip the toasts. Top the toast with cheese and tomatoes.
Bake for 5~6 minutes until cheese starts to bubble. Top with basil, black pepper, or avocado slices. Enjoy!
