Kiwi, avocado, and spinach all in one smoothie? I usually avoid adding kiwi to my smoothies because the seeds create a texture similar to sparkling water but irritating rather than refreshing. Although skeptical about this combination, an almost over-ripe kiwi and an almost over-ripe avocado were either going into our smoothie or the trash. So I put them into the blender with leftover pineapple from yesterday’s smoothie. Threw in a handful of spinach to make it greener.
And… it tastes good! Munchkin finished the cup and kept sipping her straw making air sucking noise, her way of requesting a refill. Kiwi’s texture is smoothed out by avocado’s creaminess, and pineapple took care of the taste. This combo is a keeper because there aren’t too many smoothies without bananas, and bananas can clog up little ones.
1 big avocado
1/2 fresh pineapple
1 cup spinach
1.5~2 cups coconut milk
honey to taste (if the fruits aren’t ripe enough)
